Creating aggregate status calculations

Aggregate Status is a powerful calculation tool that will count the number of element status indicators in the scorecards / elements that match your criteria. Think of it as the “Count all” function of your elements’ statuses.

Aggregate status calculations are helpful for showing aggregate performance across scorecards by status indicator. This calculation is often used to show project or measure status across an organization or department. You can use the same process to aggregate statuses for any other elements.

Navigate to a measure detail page and click the edit pencil. Click on the Series tab, then click the edit pencil next to the series. Go to the Calculation tab. Under Series Calculation Type, select Aggregate Status.

Note: Aggregate Status should not be confused with Aggregate Series! Learn more about Aggregate Series by clicking this link.

Select Scorecards you would like to include in the aggregation. You can include all scorecards, your current scorecard, child scorecards, specific scorecards, or filter by tag. Next, select the Elements to include. Once you’ve chosen an element, you can filter for specific elements to include by element name, tags, or child elements. After selecting elements, pick which Status Indicator you would like to aggregate. You can select a single status indicator or multiple. In this example, our series will track the number of projects in the current scorecard with a “above target” status indicator. When you have finished selecting elements to aggregate, click Save.

Repeat these steps to add additional series for other status indicators. After adding an aggregation for each status indicator, you can display these series on chart to create a concise view of overall performance.
