Reordering a series

Reordering series in your data table not only changes how these series are displayed in the data table, but it also changes the order with which these series appear in charts and summary reports.

From a measure detail page, click on the pencil icon.

In the edit window, click on the Series tab. From here, drag and drop the series into the desired order. The series at the top will be the first series on the left in the data table. Once complete, click Save.

Hiding a series

In ClearPoint, we have the option to hide certain series if we do not want them visible in Measure data tables or summary reports. This feature is helpful if you have a series that you don’t necessarily need to ever view, but you do need it to run in the background to help with a series calculation. You can read more about series calculations here.

In the Series edit window, choose Hide series in summary reports and data tables if you want to hide it in both summary reports and data tables, or choose Hide series in summary reports if you want to hide the series in summary reports, but still want it visible in data tables. Be sure to Save.

Note: Rather than hiding series for all summary reports, users can filter for Measure Series on the Filters tab when setting up a summary report so that only certain series appear in that particular report. See the filtering summary reports article for more information.

Locking a series

In ClearPoint, we also have the option to lock certain series from updaters in order to preserve data entries and ensure no changes are made.

In the Series edit window choose Lock series for updaters to remove the ability for updaters to make changes to the series. Be sure to click Save when finished.

Changing series number format

Number formats are not a one-size-fits-all, so in ClearPoint, we will also be able to choose which number format we want to use for our specific series. We can choose from a list of default number formats, or even add in our own custom number format, and apply that custom format to our series.

Your options are…

  • Currency – Selecting this option enables a second dropdown menu where you can select the Currency you would like to use. The ‘Default Currency’ can be set in Admin Options, following these instructions.

  • Integer – Selecting this option will display the numbers entered as an integer, with no decimal point or digits following it. Ex: 100
